Announcement with nothing to do with CyberSports

My son and his wife brought a beautiful 8lb 15oz baby boy into the world yesterday making me a grandfather for the 4th time!

Congratulations to Iain and Keera on the birth of Aescli Phoenix (hope I spelled that right) and I'm happy to report that mom and baby are both doing well! :D

CyberSports.org continues to improve useability

CyberDunk.com just added the High School server in recent days and now gives those that are new to the game a chance to learn from the ground up instead of being thrown in with the "big" boys of CD.  The premise for this server is to allow 'newbies' the chance to train a player from the ground up and compete with players of similar levels in order to be able to compete on a level playing field.

Even the team manager tools are simpler and lets the new player to the game learn how tactics and training work without the more complicated user interface that is now a part of CD.  Don't get me wrong, the manager tactics in CD are phenomenal for the experienced player to be able to rotate players in and out of the lineup and create mismatches that allow for a more sophisticated strategy but can be overwhelming to the new manager just starting out.

Three more items of note in the games' development:

1) A new user interface is almost complete and will make site navigation even easier.

As posted on Talkdep.com -

2) A player creation tool is also almost complete. This will allow users to customize the look of their individual players including skin tone and uniform colors.  More on this in the coming days!

3) Live 2D games are on the verge of being finished also.  You will be able to watch a two dimensional version of the game as it's being simmed or watch it the replay at your convenience. While watching the games is entertainment enough, it has the added benefit of users being able to see exactly how their players perform in the actual game as opposed to scanning the play-by-play and stats sheet  to determine the effectiveness of the player's skills and the manager's tactics. The developers, Talad and Omnem, say that the jump from 2D to 3D is relatively simple to do with programming and once the 2D version is working properly, expect the 3D version to shortly follow.  Now you're talking! :D

There will be a few more announcements in the coming days and you can check them out here as I try to keep up with them....stay tuned!

Welcome to Dragon7s' Cybersports.org Blog!

Welcome to the first installment of the blog that is about everything Cybersports.org!

While Cyberdunk.com is entering its 2nd year of operation, several other games are soon to be added to the Cybersports.org stable of games. Included in these are CyberSoccer.com (now in alpha testing), CyberPuck.com (a MMORPG Hockey game now in development) and Ancestoria (an Ogre-bashing MMORPG also under development). Several other games are also being considered at this time and news of their development will be forthcoming soon.

There are two other sites associated with the Cybersports.org label and they are TalkDep, the forum used primarily for information about Cyberdunk, and FocusDep, a motivational site full of biographies and quotes of inspiring figures in history.

In coming installments of this blog will be in-depth discussion about each of the games and sites associated with Cybersports.org.
